Things to think about

It’s OK to be OK

Life has ups and downs. That’s normal.

It’s normal for us to fly high, be happy happy and have high energy, wonderful days.

It’s also normal for us to have ok days where nothing particularly fabulous is happening,  nothing spectacular and glittery…just a plain ole day.

It’s equally normal for us to have the occasional blah, off kilter, let’s stop and re-do kind of days.

“I just wanna be OK, be ok, be ok-ay. I just wanna be OK today”

– love this little song. A friend used to hum it a lot. If she wasn’t humming it, she was wiggling to the tune in her head. I loved watching her for the season this was her song.

When the blah days come, it’s easy to get a little fearful that you’re sliding back into the dark place.

Did this today.  Forgot my crazy pill, so everything was off,  everything made me mad, I was at fault for every wrong on the planet. I took it immediately like I’m supposed to,  but still I was a terrible,  horrible person and entirely sure I should have been taken out back, strung up by my toenails and left to be eaten by toothy critters and fire ants.  Hated the whole world and everything in it . *insert meany face here* For a while,  I was nervous that I was sliding backwards and everything I thought was a victory was just a fantasy. After recognizing this wasn’t the case and my recent victories were indeed genuine,  that settled.

The day has ended much better after spending time celebrating a few things, however it’s still not sparkly.

It’s ok.

I think when we’ve been in the dark place for so long that just going from the ‘extra happy’ to ‘average’ makes us shake on the inside.  We forget that life is a variety of modes, speeds, colors and flavors.  It’s OK to be ok. It’s OK to not be OK sometimes. As long as it’s not prolonged and regressed back into the too-low, it’s OK to go with the flow.

Just keep living life.

Don’t forget to take moments to stretch yourself when you don’t reeeeeally want to,  but you know it’s good for you.

Remember victories.

Savor moments of joy and milk them for every ounce you can.

Do something different,  experience colors and flavors of life that aren’t your norm.

Be flexible and go with the flow on occasion

Don’t be afraid to take a risk of vulnerability from time to time.

Live and allow yourself to experience the gift that life is on the high days, average days and low days because it is a GIFT.
